Coffee Lovers Bloghop Day 3 and 3 1/2!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  If you are new to the hop, and you love Coffee, Tea or Cocoa and making stuff, then you need to check out the main blog post here for all of the info and play along!  Today I'm working with a gorgeous new digi set from Graciellie Design called Coffee & Flowers.  Here's the digi set:

And here's what I've created!

So I love my tangible stamps, but sometimes digis are sooo cool!   I love that you can print them any size you want; flip them one way or the other; and when you print them on a laser, you can foil them with some beautiful Gold Sequin Foil from Gina K Designs!  I knew I wanted to use butterflies because I'm playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday with a Twist of Butterflies!  So I went shopping in the Graciellie Digital Shop on Etsy and found this beautiful set:

I used one of the butterfly images, pulled it into Word, sized it how I wanted and then copy and pasted it... turning them every which way so the area was large enough to cut the pretty Waffle Flower Lacy Layers rectangle out of.  Printed the sheet, cut out my scalloped rectangle and foiled it.

I colored the image I wanted to use with my copics and cut it out.  Then I layered all of my pieces including that vellum rectangle (I love vellum because it does provide a focal point for your image, but still lets the beautiful background show through).  I popped up the cup of flowers.

I had printed out some of the sentiments from Coffee & Flowers.  I was sure to make them small enough so I could die cut them with my favorite Flag Banner Die from Craftin Desert Divas.

I just love this beautiful golden wrinkled seam binding from the D.L. Art store... you can find it here if you love it!  Not to mention the beautiful Gold Flower Shaped Sequins from Paper Sweeties!

So, did you know that after you foil a sheet like this, you are left with a cool negative space foil sheet that you can adhere to a Black Toner Sheet (I got mine at Gina K Designs).  So here I had this pretty gold sheet with transparent butterflies on it, so I put it through my Minc with one of those black toner sheets and got this:

IDK about you, but I think this background is pretty cool!  And if I couldn't put it through on the toner sheet, it would have ended up in the garbage!  See where the black butterflies are?  Those are the negative spaces leftover from my first project.

I printed the beautiful flower (twice-one larger than the other) from the Beautiful Birthday Wishes set from Graciellie as well as the sentiment.  Colored them in and cut them out so they'd fit in this cup... one of my favorites from Paper Sweeties... you can find that here if you love it!

And since I had made my butterfly background bigger than I needed, I had quite a few butterflies left over that I could color and cut out.  A few red Paper Sweeties Sequins and done!

So have I made a good case for some digital stamps... like I said, my piles of stamp sets aren't going anywhere... but boy is it fun to play with some digis sometimes!

Come back tomorrow and I'll have some more fun for you!

Oh and Graciellie is having an awesome sale right now!  Even better!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Day 2 1/2

I'm back today with another card for the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  If you've never heard of it before, you should definitely check out the main blog hop post here for all of the details and rules and to check out the HUGE list of sponsors all offering prizes for playing along!  Just create a new project with a theme of Spring/Summer and Coffee, Tea, or Hot Cocoa; link it up; and you have a chance to win!  And for full fun and enjoyment, join the Coffee Loving Papercrafters group on Facebook here!  You'll need to answer a few questions when you join which helps us to make sure everyone who is there is there for the right reasons!  Hope to see you there!  Here's what I have for you today:

I LOVE to play along with the Make It Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink and this week the challenge is Above and Below (highlight a sentiment using the Above and Below technique).  So when I saw this week's challenge, I knew it would be perfect for a coffee card!  You only need to use one Papertrey Ink product to play along, but most of mine are.  And there is a new challenge each Monday!  I just love the Stemmed Statement stamp set.. the flowers are so pretty and not a huge undertaking to color.

And this Fancy Tea Cup die is so inexpensive and so pretty!  It comes with a die to cut both the top and bottom layers of the cup.  I used the Happiness die from Hop Super Sponsor Verve Stamps that is included in the Happiness In A Cup Die Set.  And scattered some of my favorite Shimmer sequins from Hop Super Sponsor Craftin Desert Divas around for steam.

The Cover Plate Die is from Papertrey Ink as well as the beautiful Fun Frames Die (One of my most used so far).

So thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see you around the hop!  I stop at every stop so eventually if you play along, you'll hear from me at your place!  You can link up to your blog, or Instagram, Flicker... almost anywhere, but you'll get the most visits at those places where you don't have to log in as a member.   I stop everywhere I can!  Good luck!  Can't wait to see what you make!

And don't forget to thank all of the wonderful Sponsors for the Coffee Lover's Hop who offer up prizes!  I used products from these two today!

Spring/Summer 2018 Coffee Hop - Day 2!

It's Day 2 and I'm here with this beautiful Cup of Columbine digi from Super Sponsor Power Poppy!  If you're new to the Coffee Lovers Bloghop, please do check out the main hop post here to get all of the details and then come and play along with us!

You may remember I used this digi on last Wednesday's post to play along with the May Challenge over at Power Poppy which is Black and White with a pop of color.  A good case for reading through the rules before you start - this was my first card and when I went to post it, I saw that we were to use a pop of ONE color...lol!  So back to the drawing board, but I love this one too and I knew I'd use it again for another day.  This is the version of the digi with the Robin (as you can see)...lol!  The digi version comes with two black lined versions of the stamp, one with and one without the bird and egg.  AND it also comes with the same two digis with a no line coloring option where the lines are much lighter.  Very cool!

And that pretty plaid paper is from Super Sponsor Your Next Stamp!  It's from the Summer Plaid paper pad and just LOVE the colors in this one.. it's different from any other plaid papers you might have.

Even with a few different colors, leaving part of the image black and white and only coloring a portion really does give a dramatic look and I love it!  I focused on the blue, brown and orange on this one.  You might be happy to know that as of this week, you can also get this image in a clear stamp set.  The new set is called Cheerful Columbine and it's the image including the bird and there are a couple sentiments in the stamp set.

I just love this sweet bird so much!  Looks like she's eating the little seeds that are falling out of the flower that has gone to seed up top.  I used to have many columbine plants in my garden back in Western New York and they are one that I miss for sure.  Can't grow them here in the desert.  But back there they are perennial and they come up every year without fail and provide so much beautiful color... if I remember correctly around May-June.  I just can't get over how beautiful Marcella's images are and how much detail.  I'll be adding more to my collection for sure!  The new release is just gorgeous!

For my sentiment I used this Smile die from My Favorite Things.  I cut it and stacked four for dimension and added some liquid glass.  Those pretty scalloped mats were cut with the Fancy Frames dies from CDD... one of my most used sets!  I decorated with just a few Doodlebug Sprinkles and splattered a little bit of color shine in a few different colors.

Thanks for stopping!  Hope you enjoyed it and come back soon and often this week!  I'll have lots more caffeinated inspiration for you... hope you play along!

Coffee Lover's Hop - Day 1 with Little Acres!

So excited to be hopping at the 2018 Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Hop Super Sponsor Little Acres Creations today along with my Teamies!  Chelle from Little Acres is offering up a $15 gift certificate to the shop as a prize for the Coffee Hop.  Just create a new project with the theme of Spring/Summer and coffee, tea, or hot cocoa and link up to the hop here!  The more creations you enter, the more chances you have to win and with tons of Sponsors and there are lots of chances!

This is my second project for today and I'm using the adorable Moo Brew stamp set from Little Acres Creations along with some dies from various Sponsors of the hop!
If I'm being honest, I started out planning on this being the opposite of what it is...lol!  Ms. Moo was going to be inside the cafe', sitting in front of a window with a view of the outdoors.  However, when I glued the letters that I die cut from a PTI die set onto the window, I meant to glue them on backwards... 'cause you know... the sign would read backwards from the inside.  In my usual fashion, I glued the letters on going the wrong way...lol... and the back side was not pretty!  So, rather than starting over (I rarely do that!) I changed the literal direction of this project..lol!

I created my window using an inside scalloped die from CDD, added the acetate, and glued on my sign.  Then I created my scene on my base piece always trying to keep in mind where the window was... I added foam tape to pop it up and left the paper covering on it until I was ready to glue it down so I could keep using it as a frame while I added all of my pieces.  The cups hanging in the background were cut with some new dies from ODB and they were the perfect size!  Ms. Moo looks so content sitting on her stool at the bar along the window, sipping on her coffee and watching everyone scurrying about while she relaxes and thinks about the card she'll start when she gets home to her scrap room... hmmm... sounds like the perfect morning to me!

Just love this sign in the Moo Brew set!!  This cafe' sells all of the best kinds of Cowfee!

You can get Moo Brew at a discount through Monday... 'cause there's this!

AND for more chances to win, you can join the Little Acres Anything Goes monthly challenge for May over in the Facebook Group here!  Just join the group and add your photo to the Challenge Album for May!  You do not have to use Little Acres stamps if you don't have them yet!  There is a $10 randomly drawn prize!  You can read the blog post here for more info and get creating!  As you link up to the Coffee Lovers hop, some and join us at Little Acres too!

Please do visit often because I LOVE to play along with the Coffee Lovers Hop and I'll be in my craft room, paper flying, all week!

Spring/Summer 2018 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop! - Day 1

The Coffee Hop is Here!  The Coffee Hop is Here!

If you visit here often, you know that the Coffee Lovers Bloghop hosted by Amy over at The Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog is like a holiday for me!  The celebration starts today and runs through Friday June 1st at 11:59pm Pacific Time.  There are tons of Sponsors and lots of chances to win.  You can link up any new creation with a Spring/Summer and Coffee, Tea or Hot Cocoa theme and for each linkup you get a chance to win a prize!  Check out the Main Hop Post here for all of the details and to get a gander at all of the sponsors.  You will be amazed!  I'll be making rounds to all of the posts as always so I'll see you at some point for sure!  Also, if you're not already a member in the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook Group, you should join here for sure!

So here's one of my two makes for today:

Not too long ago, Super Sponsor Kat Scrappiness had a sale and my wish list was pretty long so I took the opportunity to make a dent in it.  I LOVE these Distressed Edges Rectangle dies from her shop and discovered them when another member of the Facebook group posted a card she made using them and had to have them (that happens quite a bit in this group...lol!)

And I do believe it was the same person that made me add this Layered Coffee Cup Die to my wish list as well...I love the size and love all of the pieces to the lid... it was a great add to my coffee collection!  I have a goal to use up this paper pad from Simple Stories during this hop.  Don't get me wrong... I LOVE it, but it feels so good to use something up doesn't it?

I knew I wanted a Llama on this one... I have a few and this one was perfect for this card!  She's from Darcie's and I think she's just the sweetest!  Of course, I needed a llama to go with that Llama Latte sentiment!  Cute right?  That one is from Super Sponsor Stampin' Funn!  You should definitely check out her shop!  She has some awesome and funn (mostly sentiments) stamps!

And I thought this sentiment from the Darcie's set was a good complement to the Llama Latte one... how else would you escape some drama?!

Hope you enjoyed your stop here today!  Come back soon and often this week!  And be sure to check out my second card for today here!

Now, get going and get something made so you can link up too!  If you don't have anything coffee, check out some of the sponsors' websites that have digis (sometimes you can even find some freebies to use during the hop).  Digis are inexpensive and you can download them right away!  Cannot wait to see what you create!  Or how about a background made with real coffee rings... coffee and a coffee cup... all you need!  I know you can think of something!  See you around the hop!

The Cutting Cafe Inspiration - Old School Inspiration!

Welcome to some Cutting Cafe Inspiration!  Today Regina has challenged us to use some of the PDF versions of her files along with fabric and not use our various cutting machines!  This was a definite challenge for me, but as I was looking through her (millions of) files on the website, I landed on the Round Basket file that I thought would be cute made out of felt!

When you purchase a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe, you will normally receive it in four different formats: PDF, SVG, MTC and WPC.   Normally I go right for the SVG to pull into my Cricut.  The MTC and WPC... I think one of them is for a Silhouette and since I don't own one of those, I really don't know...lol!  But the idea this time around was to print the PDF version, cut it out and use it as a pattern to cut some fabric.  I started off taking this pic so I could do a short photo tutorial, however, I was so engrossed in what I was doing... this is all you get...lol!  But pretty much for all of my pieces, including the flower and butterfly (these come with the file as well) I printed the pattern, pinned it to my felt or fabric and cut around them.

You could sew your pieces on, however, I couldn't find one needle in my house, so I glued everything together... I used red line tape to put together the basket and secured my seams with more red line tape and ribbon.  some of the other pieces I just used some glue.  Everything seems to be holding up just fine... although I wouldn't try to put an eight ball in it or rocks...lol!

Mine will hold a little crafty gift... some embellishments for a friend's birthday perhaps.

Hope you enjoyed your stop!  Be sure to head over to the Cutting Cafe Blog to see what everyone else has created for today.  I'm pretty excited to see myself!  And while you're there, comment for a chance to win three files!
